How Our AI Hit 73.8% on NBA Picks This Season
59-21 and counting. Here's what the model learned on its own — and what surprised us.
March 6, 2026
Our NBA prediction model is at 73.8% accuracy this season. That's 59 wins and 21 losses across 80 published picks. Every single one recorded before tipoff, every result published on our public dashboard. No cherry-picking. No hiding the misses.
This is the highest accuracy of any sport on our platform. NCAAB is at 66.7%, Tennis at 58.1%, NHL at 47.5%. NBA is in a different tier. Here's why.
Market Wisdom Is the Strongest Signal
The AI uses 8 factors for NBA predictions: ranking, offensive efficiency, defensive efficiency, pace, home court, rest days, recent form, and market wisdom. Each factor's weight is adjusted automatically by the learning engine after every game.
After 80 games, the model's learned weights tell a clear story:
- Market wisdom: 40.6% — The single strongest factor. Vegas lines aggregate millions of dollars of information. The AI learned to lean heavily on this.
- Offensive efficiency: ~15% — Points per possession matters more than raw points scored.
- Ranking + defensive efficiency: ~25% — Season-long performance metrics round out the picture.
- Home court: 0.8% — Barely above the minimum floor. The model learned that NBA home court advantage in 2026 is nearly meaningless.
- Rest days: 0.8% — Also at the minimum floor. Load management has made rest less predictive than expected.
Nobody told the AI to downweight home court. Nobody told it to trust the market. It discovered these patterns by tracking which factors actually predicted winners correctly over dozens of games.
Home Court Is Dead (in the NBA)
This is the most surprising finding. NBA home court advantage defaulted at 8% weight in our model. After 80 games, the learning engine crushed it to 0.8% — a 10x reduction. The AI essentially said: “this factor doesn't predict winners.”
This matches the broader NBA trend. Home court advantage has been declining league-wide for years. Travel is easier, arenas are similar, and elite teams perform consistently regardless of location. The model confirmed what basketball analysts have been debating.
Why 73.8% and Not Higher?
The 21 losses matter as much as the 59 wins. Looking at the misses:
- Most losses come from LEAN tier picks (50-60% confidence) — the model knows these are close calls
- LOCK tier picks (80%+) are hitting at an even higher rate — when the AI is very confident, it's usually right
- Injuries mid-game can swing outcomes that looked predictable pre-tipoff
- Some losses are simply variance — a 70% pick means it should lose 30% of the time
Sustained 73%+ against the spread would be historically elite for any prediction system. We're not claiming this will hold forever — regression happens. But the model keeps learning, and right now the NBA weights are producing results that exceed our 3-month accuracy target.
How This Compares to the Industry
Most sports prediction services don't publish their actual records. The ones that do typically achieve 55-65% accuracy. Premium services charging $30-50/month rarely sustain above 60%.
At 73.8% accuracy and 99¢ for lifetime access, the math is straightforward. Our track record is fully public. Every prediction, every result, every miss. That transparency is how we earn trust.

The NBA season continues through the playoffs. The model will keep learning — adjusting weights after every game. Playoff basketball is different from regular season: higher intensity, more preparation, and home court may matter slightly more. We'll see if the learning engine picks up on that shift.
Meanwhile, March Madness is 9 days away. Our NCAAB model is at 66.7% (307-153) with conference tournaments underway. Different sport, different dynamics, but the same learning engine and the same transparency.
