Fill Your 2026 March Madness Bracket with AI in 10 Minutes
The bracket is out. Your pool deadline is approaching. Instead of agonizing over every 5-12 matchup, here's a step-by-step system using AI confidence tiers to fill out a data-backed bracket in under 10 minutes.
First Four tips off March 18
Most bracket pools close before then. The AI has every game picked with confidence tiers.
Step 1: Understand Confidence Tiers
Every AI pick comes with a confidence tier. This is the most important thing for bracket filling — it tells you how sure the model is about each game.
LOCK (80%+)
Highest conviction. These are your chalk picks. Trust them.
STRONG (70-80%)
Solid pick. Rare to miss, but double-check recent injuries.
CONFIDENT (60-70%)
This is where brackets are won. CONFIDENT on a 12-seed = real upset potential.
LEAN (50-60%)
Coin flip territory. The AI leans one direction but isn't confident.
Step 2: Lock In Your Chalk (3 Minutes)
Start with the easy games. Every AI pick rated LOCK or STRONG is your chalk. Pick the higher seed in these games and move on. Don't overthink 1 vs 16 or 2 vs 15 matchups — the data says take the favorite.
This should cover roughly 20-24 of the 32 first-round games. You just filled 75% of the first round in 3 minutes.
Step 3: Find Your Upsets (4 Minutes)
This is where bracket pools are won. Look at the remaining games — the ones rated CONFIDENT or LEAN. If the AI gives a lower seed a CONFIDENT rating, that's a data-backed upset pick.
The 12-5 Rule
Historically, a 12-seed beats a 5-seed about 35% of the time. But that number jumps when the 12-seed has elite 3-point defense and the 5-seed relies on shooting. The AI catches these specific matchup problems. Pick 1-2 of the AI's flagged upsets, not all of them.
How many upsets to pick: In a typical bracket pool, picking 2-3 first-round upsets and 1-2 Sweet 16 upsets gives you differentiation without blowing up your bracket. The AI's confidence tiers tell you which ones are real.
Step 4: Fill the Later Rounds (3 Minutes)
For Sweet 16, Elite 8, and Final Four, the AI has confidence tiers on projected matchups. General rules:
- •Sweet 16: Mostly chalk with 1-2 surprise picks where the AI flagged a lower seed as STRONG
- •Elite 8: Go with the AI's top-rated pick in each region. This is usually a 1 or 2 seed, sometimes a 3.
- •Final Four + Championship: Pick the AI's LOCKs. Don't get cute here — the championship game is worth the most points in most pools.
Step 5: Check and Submit
Quick sanity check before you submit:
- ✓Did you pick 2-3 first-round upsets (not 7)?
- ✓Are your championship picks LOCKs or STRONGs, not LEANs?
- ✓Did you avoid picking your alma mater just because they're your team?
- ✓Is your bracket different from the chalk-only default? (You need differentiation to win pools)

A Note on Honesty
The AI won't get every game right. Nobody does — that's why they call it March Madness. But at 67% on NCAAB this season with every loss published on our track record, it's a better starting point than your gut.
We publish every miss. We don't delete losing days. We don't screenshot our best week and pretend that's the norm. The full record is public. That's the deal.
